Ontario cracks down on phones and vapes in schools

The Ontario government announced that starting in September, students from kindergarten to Grade 6 will be required to keep phones on silent and ‘out of sight’ for the entire school day; students in Grades 7 to 12, will not be permitted to use their phones during class time without permission. The province also said it will ban vapes and other nicotine products in schools and is spending $30 million on new vape detectors that will be installed in the coming months.
