“Doomed for death and destruction”: Pierre Poilievre on BC drug decriminalization pilot program

32

It was a big week for British Columbia in Canada’s capital, with the spotlight on B.C.’s drug decriminalization pilot in the House of Commons.

B.C.’s three-year drug decriminalization pilot project became a hot topic last week when Premier David Eby requested the Criminal Code exemption be modified to allow police to intervene in illicit public drug use once again.

Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre was ejected from the House of Commons on Tuesday for refusing to withdraw and apologize for saying it is a “wacko policy from a wacko prime minister.”

Global BC’s Richard Zussman spoke with Pierre Poilievre about his thoughts on drug policy, safe supply diversion and bail reform for violent offenders.

  1. Polievre is irresponsibly misinforming about the facts where 85% of the 2500 people died because of fentanyl. Regulated supply is there to stop fentanyl deaths.

  2. Look at the sick and terrible language pierre spews at us – there is no record of an abomination like this that I can remember.
I'm an old man now – this is the darkest period in my Beloved Canada that I've ever witnessed.
He MUST be exposed for what he really is – our survival depends upon it.

  3. This guy is unfit for office. Almost everything that comes out of his mouth is a blatant lie or twisted. He will be a disaster for BC and every province that doesn't conform to the far right Conservative order. He has no solutions, platform, he doesn't want to share his actual agenda. Pierre and his caucus are counting on rage farming to push him to victory. Just look to Alberta for a preview.

  4. My father was a heroin addict in BC twenty five years ago. He was given methodone and free needles, and enabled. The way addiction works is that it grows over time, and consumes people slowly. The longer you're an addict, the less chance you'll recover. What they're doing is genuinely evil. My father needed to hit rock bottom and actually seek out help.

This has been going on for a quarter of a century, they act like the opioid crisis is random. No. It's manufactured. And these policies have been poisoning BC for decades.

  5. OMG! I was in Pizza Pizza last week downtown Ottawa on Rideau Street. A drug infused person came in half-naked, demanded pizza. He then kicked in the window from the outside. I was at the cash waiting for my slice. Trudeau has blinders on.

  6. 3 Choices… In a treatment program for drugs or mental health, in a shelter (if just homeless) or in jail if they don't like the other 2. That's it. None of this living in a park nonsense using government supply and doing hard drugs in parks and on the streets. PERIOD. Finally a guy that has the balls to say it!

  7. Justin Trudeau has a Noble Soul and a Brave Heart ?
    He's a People Person First ?
He takes care of the Economy,His Citizens, Environment at great Personal Cost,
He doesn't take Party Election Money ?
    From Assassinators of
    Prominent Patriotic Canadian Citizens.

  8. IMHO drugs in Canada are not only NOT a political issue but a health issue that has gootten completly out of control by BOTH political parties treating it as a political issue while making ZERO progress because they do not know what they are doing.

  9. Bonie Henry really if this is so safe why does she not do these so safe drugs?
Hmmm its funny how many wineries does this woman own in BC since she has grown so powerful over the people of BC

  10. Last I check it was the BC NDP who fought tooth & nail (their words) against the Federal government in order for this to happen for the past decade! Now that it's gone horribly wrong they want to blame everyone but themselves.

  11. Henry mandated mRNA for health workers and BC Gov set up wet houses for addicts, staying silent on disability from mRNA and exasperating health workers shortage needed for addiction svcs. Will Poilievre push to stop WHO or mRNA- no.

  12. I was given drugs I was raised on drugs since I was 5 years old my parents were drug dealers they are involved in organized crime all the way to the top to the politicians and I think that drugs should be totally legal and then that would take the power out of it the people that are going to die from it will die and I'm still alive
