Trump’s broad plan for 10% tariffs would be “very difficult for Canada,” ambassador warns

Former U.S. president Donald Trump has a plan to impose a 10 per cent tariff on all imports into America if he’s voted back into the White House.

It’s a policy that would be “very difficult for Canada,” according to Kirsten Hillman, Canada’s ambassador to the U.S.

But Hillman says the policy would not only raise prices on Canadian products, it would not be good for Americans either if it results in a tit-for-tat over tariffs between the two countries.

Dawna Friesen sat down to speak with the ambassador ahead of Tuesday’s election.

  1. we all know your news organization is corruptly biased by left wing federal grants . this entire time it has been so cringe seeing media constantly try to throw Trump under the bus… even a child could figure out what is going on here.

  2. Trump takes care of Americans ….Let Canadians do the same to their people…..whatsnot happening now.
Tarrifs os good…Canada just has to wake up.
What has happened since the Trump trade agreement between us them and Mexico?
Nothing….Canada played along and screwed Canadians with free trade

  3. She didn’t mention she knew who Biden is. The Brandon dude isn’t the same person who was Obama’s Vice President.
Trump will have a more positive effect on Canadians than the regime in Ottawa. He is going to eliminate Income tax in the USA and Canada will have to follow suit. Unnecessary Liberal spending will have to stop.
