the adventure it’s sort of crazy crossing the Atlantic in 10 days I’m from Montreal born and raised and um now I’m a part of the fem ocean challenge team that put together for uh for this Transat race the transact Quebec sealo competition started 40 years ago but this year’s Edition marks the first race in 8 years about 30 sailboats are taking part in the journey which is expected to take 2 weeks it’s going to be hard it’s going to be be violent the start cuz it’s like those race are their service and it’s a very narrow River so 30 boat at the same time it’s going to rock we have to cross the North Atlantic Ocean to join Britany 8 years ago the first boat sail the race in 11 days I hope we’ll be able to do less than 11 days cuz our boat is faster so it should be between 10 and 13 days depending to the weather because if there is no wind it will be longer and we’ll see here is the life draft if we’ve got any problem here the computer to to think about the weather the routine and the strategy and for the kitchen it’s just that small thing to BU water um here is the bed how bed is just a ban bag and we can put it everywhere in the boat depending to the weather and we sleep in the beIN bag it’s comfortable yeah it is in fact really really comfortable everything is uh here there is no I mean let’s say there’s no bed there is not a lot of about Comfort this is the cockpit so where we do all the all the Maneuvers we will leave uh we will leave two people outside and one people inside resting or cooking or doing the navigation sailing is very special we have a lot of uh people who are doing who are sailing in Quebec but they’re not sailing professionally in France it’s a huge sport like hockey here but it’s like we start to have more and more quebecers we have women who are going to do the race it’s also allw women’s allw women’s team um which we have way too few um in sailing and even in offshore racing as well I just hope that this uh offers a an opportunity or even a a look uh for other girls to see that this is a possibility

About 30 sailboats are taking part in the 40th edition of the Transat Québec Saint-Malo competition, which is expected to take two weeks.
