"Get ready to celebrate Canada Day in High River, but be prepared for closures and road blocks as well!

Facilities and Roads Closed

On July 1st, Canadians will be celebrating their national day, which means some facilities and roads in High River will be closed for the day. The list includes the High River and Foothills Joint Administration Building, Family and Community Support Services, Greater Foothills Family Centre, Public Works Administration Building, Recycling Centre, High River RCMP Administration Office, High River Department Administration Office, Bob Snodgrass Recreation Complex, and the library.

Road Closures

In addition to facility closures, certain roads will also be blocked off to ensure the safety of pedestrians during Canada Day activities. George Lane Park, 9 Street SE, 9 Ave SE, and access to 9 Ave SE from both 10 and 11 Street SE will all be closed to vehicles for the day.

Stay Alert

The Town of High River is advising drivers to be cautious of high foot traffic in town, especially around the event venues. Emergency services and garbage collection will not be affected by the holiday closures, so residents can rest assured.

Canada Day Festivities

The celebrations will take place at George Lane Park and Emerson Lake, starting in the morning. To stay informed about closures in High River, be sure to check out the town’s website.

As we gear up to celebrate Canada Day, let’s remember to be mindful of road closures and show respect for the safety measures in place. Enjoy the festivities, but also stay vigilant and responsible as we honor this special day in our nation’s history."
