Edmonton Oilers fans celebrate after team forces Stanley Cup final Game 7

Edmonton has been wanting to bring the Stanley Cup back to this city for so long and when you look at how the team has turned things around again fans have stood by them they’ve said that they can do it but when the Oilers took home game six it was absolutely incredible in ice district and fans are ready for what’s next oh way to go Oilers I’m so proud of you you can do it I I graduated today going to so what was better the graduation or the win um I think the win I got 2° this beats it I’m not going to lie this has been 18 years in making we have a Jersey from 2006 when they were last in the S finals look at this sh we are there we are taking this cup we are taking this cup I drove here from black folds and I seen our Jets still running ready to head back to Florida let’s go go so even when the team takes to the ice in Florida on Monday this area is going to be full of fans just waiting to see what happens again a game seven between the Florida Panthers and the Edmonton Oilers is something that fans have been dreaming of and to know that it’s become a reality is something this city and probably the country aren’t going to forget nany Carlson CBC News Edmonton lifelong Oilers fan but a Florida resident as well for about a decade now joining us now to talk more about this wacky wild series Corey welcome to the program all thank you thanks for having me all right what a night what does it feel like are you in a dream oh man it’s it’s something else um it’s crazy I mean I think I feel the same as most other oers fans right now and uh you know it’s been been a crazy crazy finals and here we are going to game seven what was for you that highlight moment oh man um there’s been there’s been so many great ones I mean it’s been a great Stanley Cup um you know run the whole way but these finals have been just I mean exceptional right before I let you go sports uh athletes are notoriously superstitious some sports fans are as well are you any you’re going to do or not do before the game on Monday uh yeah definitely fall in the superstitious category uh but uh yeah I mean got got the Jersey to wear and um uh you know probably have a couple of pregame songs I’ll listen to on the way to the game and um you know I’ll leave it at that but uh you know excited all right we’ll wait to see how it all unfolds thank you so much Corey Corey cowette from Miami Florida for having me

Edmonton defeated visiting Florida 5-1 on Friday to force Game 7. Fans are hoping for one more win by the Oilers on Monday, which would end Canada’s 31-year Cup drought dating back to the 1993 Montreal Canadiens’ victory over the Los Angeles Kings.
