I live in a small town Saskatchewan Canada ,the other day i killed one that size and thought nothing of its size… i actually have seen those for years, also said hi to a huge bumblebee today size of a quarter… the hornet was in my van ,i didn't want any trouble I'm very allergic to their bites. Otherwise i wouldn't have killed it either, we need Hornets just as much as we need bumblebees and flies and maggots ?
Saw them in Virginia in early May.
just wait next we will hear about giant murder hornets next as they cross breed
