Canada to give permanent residency to caregivers upon arrival

On Monday, Canada introduced a new pilot program that will grant permanent residency status to caregivers as soon as they arrive in the country.

“The biggest change coming in these new pilots will be providing a one-step immigration process,” Immigration Minister Marc Miller said.

In addition to these changes, he emphasized that the language requirements for the new permanent residency on arrival pilots will be lowered as a means of ensuring fairness.

“The change will notably provide more autonomy for caregivers to leave workplaces with abusive situations and seek opportunities to advance in the care sector,” Miller said.

  1. My sister is nurse in backhome and she's CLB 6 with 3 years of caregiving experience. But how can she apply for job as caregiver in Canada? Is there any website?
Do they need job offer before applying for this program?

  2. So you give the permanent residency upon arrival because they claim to be a caregiver…. What prevents them from deciding 3 months down the road to follow their dreams of becoming a sandwhich technician at subway??
