Federal minister says she came to Canada for a safe abortion | Power & Politics


Tourism Minister Soraya Martinez Ferrada rose in the House of Commons this week to share her story of coming to Canada to access a safe abortion, subsequently after a petition from Conservative MP Arnold Viersen, calling for national regulation on abortion. She says it’s ‘not enough’ for her government to simply say it won’t take away a woman’s right to choose.
