“Bad welcome to Canada”: BC stabbing victim’s wife angered by random attack while building new life

The wife of the man stabbed along the White Rock, B.C., promenade Sunday evening is speaking out, saying they no longer feel safe in the country they came to just a couple of months ago.

Manpreet Kaur says she and her husband, Jadinder Singh, arrived in Canada from India and had just begun building their new life.

The pair finally found their first moment to spend some quality time together and decided to take the bus to White Rock Pier.

That’s when Jadinder Singh was stabbed in the back of the neck in what police are calling a random and unprovoked attack by a stranger.

Global’s Janet Brown reports.

  1. Canada needs immigrants to pay for all the taxes required pay off the debt and obligations. Welcome to crappy paychecks, violent streets, cold winters and loopy activists. Oh, and you'll likely never have your own house.

  2. That’s horrible and not representative of all people in Canada – despite what the moronic comments say. Don’t be afraid of anything – that’s not normal – it’s a loose canon who will be locked up soon enough. Always be streetwise – people are friendly and welcome you. Never think you need stay indoors – go enjoy and take it in. Meet people.
