Almost one billion people are eligible to vote in India’s parliamentary election, slated to take place over the next six weeks.
The vote began on Friday and is the largest democratic voting process in history.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is hoping for a third term at the helm of the world’s largest democracy and vows to make India a developed country by its centenary in 2047.
But as people head to the poll, opposition parties are casting doubt on the fairness of the election – saying the odds are stacked against them.

I'm genuinely grateful for the opportunity to engage in such stimulating discourse. It's a privilege not to be taken lightly.?
I live in China. Sorry for the Covid!
Can anyone tell me what an "election" is?
So Trudeau gets 30%, modi gets majority & 60% vote share, yet Modi is undemocratic ?.
Congress government didn’t pay taxes or send info about taxes to reporting agencies for 1 year, so of course agencies will have to act!
Trudeau spends 100’s of millions on AriveCan app, which UK made is 80k pounds, yet we are calling out India! We should look at our own country & its issues before calling out others, who have 60%+ vote share!
Modi & his fascist organization RSS are biggest dangers for world. They are persecuting minorities in India & have completely captured all agencies.
I pray that Indians remove this dictator and bring back democracy.
Democratic hahaha almost laughed there is nothing Democratic about the rampant election corruption in India.
