Montreal electric car show exhibits industry’s advancement - Montreal

“The Montreal Electric Vehicle Show is currently in full swing, attracting not only electric vehicle enthusiasts but also industry leaders. The event is a showcase of the diverse range of electric vehicles available, from scooters and bikes to cars.

Diving deeper into the show, professionals from various fields are present to demonstrate the different ways people can engage with this technology beyond just purchasing a vehicle. Santiago Baptista, an EV mechanics instructor at the École des métiers de l’équipement motorisé de Montréal, expressed his excitement about the new developments, highlighting the enthusiasm young mechanics have for this technology.

One key aspect of the exhibition is the emphasis on the recycling of EV batteries, underscoring the importance of ensuring the sustainability of transitioning from gas-powered vehicles to electric ones. It’s a crucial step in achieving the environmental goals set by the EV industry.

Moving on to the broader picture, experts caution that while EVs play a significant role in combating climate change, they alone are not sufficient. Blandine Sebileau, the project manager for the electrification of transportation at Équiterre, stressed the importance of reducing the overall number of vehicles on the roads in conjunction with the shift to EVs.

In a notable announcement, Quebec Minister of Economy, Innovation, and Energy Pierre Fitzgibbon revealed a $3.3 million investment in a pilot project led by Propulsion Quebec. The project aims to utilize fully electric semi trucks for transporting merchandise between Montreal and Quebec City, ultimately reducing greenhouse gas emissions by 4,000 tonnes over three years.

The show continues to showcase innovation and progress in the EV industry, with Propulsion Quebec CEO Michelle LLambías Meunier highlighting the project’s goal of demonstrating the viability of 100% electric and decarbonized deliveries from the company to the clients directly.

This exciting event runs from April 19 to April 21 at the Olympic Stadium, offering a glimpse into the future of sustainable transportation. With each new development and initiative, the EV industry is moving closer to a greener and more environmentally friendly future.

As we look ahead, it’s clear that the Montreal Electric Vehicle Show is not just a display of technology but a symbol of our collective commitment to a sustainable future. Let’s continue to support and innovate in the realm of electric vehicles for the betterment of our planet and future generations.”
