Dubai floods: Why was the desert city hit with a torrential downpour?

Several Arabian Peninsula countries are recovering after days of flash flooding across the region, killed 20 people and shut down one the world’s busiest airports.

But what triggered the torrential downfall that brought on the deadly floods in this tropical desert paradise? Experts say it could have been exacerbated by climate change.
