  1. Global News demonstrates its "tabloid journalism" by prominently featuring the death of a criminal as headline news. News managers and journalists prefer celebrity gossip and scandal over the real concerns of Canadians. Is Global News going to have any special tributes, (again and again, like it had for Mulroney), like a very slow-moving hearse being chased by highway patrol cars?

  2. If you weren’t of a certain age back then, it would be hard to understand or properly describe the times & context. If you weren’t, don’t rely too much upon anything but the basics.
In my opinion, America had been very comfortable burying issues of race as quickly as was able. Hip hop music , Rodney King , the L.A riots , the LAPD . A video camera(Rodney King beating) & the O.J trial , made it impossible to skate past the obvious and shone a bright light on things people really didn’t want to face.
The truth, and i’m not writing about O.J’s guilt or innocence. Which, by the way, he was found not guilty in a court of law.

Many years have passed, and the world still hasn’t truly faced up to its harmful colonial ideologies. Maybe some day, it truly will. We’ve come a long way but, there is still more that can be done. Time will tell.
