There are trying times ahead for the Native Women’s Association of Canada (NWAC), which is struggling after laying off half of its workforce and losing tens of millions of dollars in federal funding.

The organization is also dealing with internal turmoil, from toxic workplace allegations to criticism of overspending.

  1. All I see is an organization that shouldnt exist that existed and corruptly took millions of dollars and used it on themselves. I can bet if you do a financial deep dive there is some real corruption as is hte case when you give any group of people millions of dollars just for existing.

  2. This sounds like it amounts to another failed "cupcake store" scenario where women think being a strong business leader for native and women means banking on unbankable commodities. And now they want more government money, to feed into the "yay native women" narratives.

  3. Looking of ways to make those hefty pay cheques. But, what are they doing for the Native women? It looks pretty luxurious.
    This is really an example of the way the pandemic ‘let us get away from ourselves’. There was no oversight, at the time. People don’t think like they used to. Some are not in the best of health, logically. A few months in jail may set them straight.
