“Reckless Behavior Leads to Multiple Charges for Lethbridge Man”
In late February, Strathmore RCMP received reports of a disturbing incident involving a man engaging in reckless behavior with firearms. The individual was seen recording himself shooting out of moving vehicles and near roadways with handguns and long guns. The Southern Alberta District Crime Reduction Unit took swift action and identified the culprit as a 20-year-old resident of Lethbridge, Nicholas Bastarache.
Search Warrant Executed
Following their investigation, a search warrant was executed on a residence in the 100 block of Fifth Street on March 8. Inside the home, law enforcement officials discovered a loaded handgun. As a result, Nicholas Bastarache was charged with a litany of offenses, including careless use of a firearm, unsafe storage of a firearm, possession of a weapon obtained by crime, and possession for the purpose of trafficking under the Controlled Drugs and Substance Act (CDSA).

Nicholas Bastarache is now set to appear in court in Strathmore on May 21 to face the charges brought against him.
