Baby on board: Alberta woman gives birth in her car

87

She came so fast there was just no time to even think about it what was your original plan uh for giving birth to Kinley my original plan was to go to the hospital and get the epidural and it was going to be calm and a doctor was going

To deliver her that was my plan where was she supposed to be born the Royal alexandraa and we were literally 10 minutes away when did you realize things were not going according to plan I could feel her head coming and I was like there’s no way where going to make it

Like there there’s absolutely no way I told him like you need to pull over right now and we called 911 and within 10 minutes of that call she was born so Jason uh when your wife tells you this what are you thinking I think I said

Something like can you hold it which was not the right thing to say at that time the 911 operator he was he was really good he walked me through all the uh what I needed to do at that point it was a very uh Out of This World Experience

Way I can put it I was in the front seat and I’m still seated like I’m not even lied back like there is no time at all uh so I’m basically like hovering off of the passenger seat uh delivering my baby and he I basically just said you

Need to catch her we actually ended up trading in our car like 11 days later she’s doing great she is yeah here here go here you go she is gaining weight really great and she has had no issues so when she’s older and she asks me where she’s born

I’ll tell her uh on the street corner in a Kia Sportage

Amanda Stuparyk was in labour for 28 hours with her first child, leaving her plenty of time to get to the hospital. It was a different story for baby No. 2, who was born in the passenger seat of the family’s car.
