Delays common and now Air Canada has landed last among North America’s 10 largest Airlines according to Aviation data firm cerium’s July on-time rankings Alaska Airlines number one making 82 percent of its flights on time WestJet ranked seventh with 62 percent of its trips on time Air Canada at the bottom
Of the list only Landing 51 percent of its flights within 15 minutes of their scheduled arrivals in contrast even the lowest ranked Europe and asia-pacific Airlines arrived on time about 70 percent of the time why is there Canada at the bottom of the list this is this
Is not a new phenomenon this is something that’s been going on since the beginning of the summer McGill Aviation management expert John gratick says Air Canada has been very aggressive in putting out flights and prices to attract customers after the pandemic the objective is really was to make money
And to recover some lost profits from the last three years it’s more about filling up those planes and it’s customer service and on-time performance will take a back seat both Air Canada and WestJet site weather including thunderstorms a shortage of air traffic controllers and strong demand which can mean longer turnaround times neither
Airline would do an interview I’m not aware of any case where maximum 25 000 fine was issued for a single violation to an airline and that’s where the problem starts air passenger rights says there are no meaningful consequences for Canadian Airlines which Break The Rules hence no real incentive for compliance
So harsher penalties need to be issued and collected if in one year three one million dollar fines are issued to Airlines or various violations next year things are going to improve it is that simple meantime Gabor lucax is pushing the Canadian Transportation agency to bring us in line with European
Union law which he says is the gold standard when it comes to protecting air passengers due to its Simplicity and the ease to enforce it Kristen Robinson Global News
Less than 52 per cent of Air Canada’s 36,017 flights last month arrived on time, a new report by Cirium has found.
The aviation analytics company ranked the 10 most punctual major North American airlines in July. Air Canada finished in last place, while WestJet ranked seventh with just under 62 per cent of its 17,405 reaching their destinations on time. Alaska Airlines took first place with 82 per cent of its 36,960 flights arriving on schedule.

Air Canada Sucks!
Prior to covid Air Canada was a great airline. Now I wouldn't even consider booking with them.
AirScamada, our taxes/investments used at its finest.
Hahahaha well the mistake was Flying Air Canada! I learned my lesson years ago and won't set foot on an Air Canada Flight. I paid $300 more my last trip to fly a different airline.
Air Canada flights that go to Europe don't even include complimentary meals. That's an extra cost. Ridiculous.
Canadian aviation market should be open to US companies – this will motivate locals to do better job.
A Rip off Canadian airline
Employees don’t work on weekend.
No to Digital ID, Digital Passports and CBDCs.
At least half made it on time. For an incompetent company in a corrupt country, that is not bad at all!
Hehehe
What would happen to a small business with such a horrible track record ?
Why would arriving on time matter when you're a monopoly with no competition. There's no incentive for these companies they'll still make money.
so what's you're saying is that service standards have been met….that's great news!
And their staff wonder why we are all so angry at them! As long as they wear the uniform or name tag, they are part of the problem and deserve all venom directed at them!
Be interesting to see how many humans air canada hires comparedto other companies. I bet that plays a huge role.
My west jet flight was all human staff and i had no issues
Because new pilots don’t know their way around Canada as yet
Well, it’s a Canadian company. Why would anyone expect any better? Their employees are sourced from the same pool as our politicians and public workers – so why do we expect they work any more efficient or competent?
Time to open the sky to foreign companies
And yet, many people still choose to fly with Air Canada. Who's fault is that?!?!?? Go with another airline – yes, spend that extra $$$$$$ or find another means. There should be ZERO complaints if you fly with Air Canada, knowing how bad things can be/get – the definition of crazy is doing something over and over and over again, and expecting a different outcome. Thumbs up to those who have stopped flying or flying with AC because you're changing your behaviour. But I suspect those who complain likely complain about everything else life, and always blame others.
Maybe it’s because the the employees get paid like garbage and the CEO gets a 233% raise.
DEI hiring. Indians.
Less than 50% of Global News stories are actual news……
Maybe the “aviation expert” should view the Air Canada Pilots YouTube channel to familiarize himself with the current situation affecting the Canadian aviation industry.
